Mission
All Humans Welcome. No Strings Attached.
Profile
ECM is more than just a campus ministry; we're a vibrant community of students committed to growth, building community, and leading positive change. At ECM, we embrace diversity in all forms, including religious and non-religious identities, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and languages.
Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing space for students to explore and affirm their beliefs while fostering a sense of belonging and connection. Whether you're seeking to deepen your faith, engage in meaningful conversations, or make a difference in the world, ECM is here to support you every step of the way.
But what does "ecumenical" mean, anyway? Pronounced ek-u-men-i-cal, it signifies cooperation amidst difference. While traditionally associated with Christian unity, at ECM, we see it as a broader call to collaboration and understanding across all boundaries.
Events/Activities:
Real Food Lunch: Every Friday during the K-State Spring and Fall semester, ECM hosts Real Food Lunch (RFL), a vegan meal for students and community members. Started over 10 years ago, RFL has become a community gathering moment at ECM, offering a moment for reflection, community sharing, and connection. Your support helps keep this tradition alive and accessible to all.
Interfaith Services: ECM co-hosts interfaith services in collaboration with local churches in the community. Our services feature music, readings, and reflections from the sponsoring communities: Manhattan Jewish Congregation, Ecumenical Campus Ministry at K-State, First Christian Church of Manhattan, and Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Manhattan. All are welcome to join us as we come together to acknowledge our interconnectedness and create community.
Sustainability Retreats: Designed to inspire and empower, our retreats offer a unique opportunity to connect with nature, learn sustainable practices, and foster a deeper understanding of our role in preserving the planet. Led by passionate leaders and experts in sustainability, each retreat provides a blend of educational workshops, hands-on activities, and reflective experiences. Whether you're interested in learning about composting, reducing your carbon footprint, or exploring eco-friendly lifestyles, there's something for everyone. Join us as we explore the intersection of faith, community, and environmental responsibility and discover how you can make a meaningful impact on our world.
